Exciting News! We have completed installation of an accessible trail spur that is home to a very special Forest StoryWalk experience, where pages from a children’s book are installed along the outdoor path. The trail will also soon feature rotations of Community and Student Curated Exhibitions under the theme “All that Trees Provide; the value of trees and forests in our everyday lives.” Community-curated exhibitions will rotate with StoryWalks seasonally. Exhibit Submission Guidelines and Call for Proposals The community-curated trail spur will provide a unique opportunity for schools, individuals, families, researchers, and community groups to explore, and deepen their understanding of sustainable forestry, share their stories and experiences through curated exhibition while building a community of dedicated forest stewards! |
Our new book, Not a Buzz to Be Found: Insects in Winter, by Linda Glaser with illustrations by Jaime Zollars, tells the colorful story of what insects do, and where they go, during the winter. From woolly bear caterpillars to honey bees and monarch butterflies, travel the trail to learn what insects may be hiding just out of sight.
ALL THAT TREES PROVIDE Enjoy reading and exploring under the canopy of trees. Forestry and nature themed children’s books, poetry, art, science and activities will rotate seasonally through community-curated trailside exhibits that celebrate Wisconsin’s rich forest heritage through visual arts, science and literature.
